US Congressmen to Visit Ayman Nour

A US Congress delegation will visit Ayman Nour on Sunday, said wife of the former leader of Al-Ghad Party

Gamila Ismail, wife of Ayman Nour, the former leader of Al-Ghad Party, a US Congress delegation will visit Egypt on Sunday, July, 22nd, 2007. Gamila said in a statement to Ikhwanweb that the Congress delegation presented an official request to the Egyptian authorities for visiting Ayman Nour in his prison .

Gamila said in a statement to Ikhwanweb that the Congress delegation presented an official request to the Egyptian authorities for visiting Ayman Nour in his prison .
 
Gamila pointed out that the delegation members are representatives of the US Treasure committee in the Congress. Their short visit to Cairo is a part of a program of exchange of visits between the US and Egyptian Houses of parliament, according to her.
 
The Egyptian government is expected to accept the request- the first of such a kind from US officials who were previously heading directly to prison to meet the Egyptian leader but their requests were rejected due to the regulations of Egyptian prison administration. Add to this the US recent sharp attacks against the Egyptian regime because it still jails Ayman Nour.
