Secretary General of the Jordan Islamic Action Front Zaki Bin Rashid said that the decision issued by the Jordanian Attorney General dissolving the Islamic Charity Center is in the wrong place and will do an untold harm to the charity activities run by the Society. Bin Rashid did not rule out the stop of donations now that the law has taken effect Sunday July.9, 2006. Because of this decision, Jordanian Social Development Minister Dr. Suleiman el Tarawna said that he would instruct the Jordanian Central Bank governor to consider the signatures of the now- dissolved Charity members as invalid, adding that a provisional administrative body is under way to run the activities of the Society.
For his part, Society Chairman Saad el Din el Zameely said that, like many other societies, his charity centre works to the law under the umbrella of the Ministry of Social Affairs, which is authorized by the law to supervise the activities of these societies.
