![]() ICM Submits Bill Giving Nationality to 2000 Kuwaiti Biduns
Khodair Al Anzi, a parliamentarian heading the committee of the Biduns (those without nationality) for the Islamic Constitutional Movement (ICM) in the Kuwaiti National Assembly declared that they are preparing a bill for giving nationality to 2000 Biduns in 2008.

Khodair Al Anzi, a parliamentarian heading the committee of the Biduns (those without nationality) for the Islamic Constitutional Movement (ICM) in the Kuwaiti National Assembly declared that they are preparing a bill for giving nationality to 2000 Biduns in 2008. He pointed out that they will lodge this suggestion in the National Assembly starting from the coming round, as apart of the ICM"s parliamentary efforts for solving this humanitarian issue " of giving nationality to those deserving it.
For his part, Khodair Al Anzi told Ikhwanweb:" We will submit this bill and we hope the government will cooperate with to settle this file and giving nationality to those persons specially that their number isn"t that big. We call on government to solve this problem because these people face many injustices. Al Anzi pointed out that this expected bill is a step towards an all-out solution. It is an opportunity for the government to prove its seriousness in tackling this issue apart from political overbidding. Many MPs back this issue and support giving nationality 2000 Biduns. Al Anzi called for including those who offered great services to the country and those deserving nationality to the law of giving nationality to 2000 biduns. He added that a package of parliamentary measures will be taken soon so that this issue is settled without facing ant obstacles or procrastination. |
