The Egyptian government prevent Gamila Sadek, a human rights activist and the delegate of the Arab Commission for Human Rights, from attending and monitoring today"s session. This is once the second time in which Gamila Sadek as she was denied access to the 21st session held on Tuesday, Oct, 16th, 2007, in a scene that was repeated dozens of times by Egyptian security forces in the Huckstepp base where the trial is held. All human rights activists were prevented from attending the tribunal sessions to monitor the trial process. Gamila Sadek said earlier that this continuous prevention of human rights activists aims to accelerate the military court against the MB leaders without any fuss and without any human rights supervision so that such notorious measures aren"t exposed. She saw also that this case is politically motivated and there is no criminal evidence in it. For his part, Abdul Moneim Abdul Maqsoud, a member of the defence team for the MB leaders transferred to the military tribunal, said that the tribunal delegated the same previously formed experts committee related to the MB case and ordered it to write another report. At the end of the session, it was adjourned till next October, 22nd, 2007. |
