Al-Shater Denies Censorship Charges, Considers Fake

Khairat Al-Shater appeared before Al-Sayeda Zainab Prosecution pursuant to a notice filed against him by the Censorship Investigation Bureau.

Today’s morning, the Muslim Brotherhood 2nd deputy chairman and renown businessman Khairat Al-Shater appeared before Al-Sayeda Zainab Prosecution pursuant to a notice filed against him by the Censorship Investigation Bureau. The notice defined Al-Shater as a Board Director of the Islamic Publishing and Distribution House, which indicted by the same notice for publishing incorrect translation of the meanings of the Holy Quran earlier.
On his part, Khairat Al-Shater denied any relation with the publication house, established by the late Muslim Brotherhood Executive Chairman Omar Al-Telmisani as a Limited Partnership in 1979, saying “this is a fake indictment” adding “it represents a police depreciation of basic human rights and national interests.”
In a related context, Mahmoud Saber, the house legal affairs manager, stated that the copy upon which the case founded is “false and fabricated”. “The version the house issued is sound and officially authorized by Al-Azhar’s Islamic Research Academy” Saber Added
On the gates of the prosecution office, which was overcrowded with media cameras and journalists and heavily cordoned by Egyptian riot police, Al-Shater stated saying these clumsy and illegal measures stand manifest on the despotic nature and failure of the ruling regime.
Responding to a question regarding military tribunals, Khairat Al-Shater, who suffers arbitrary imprisonment inside Egypt’s notorious Torah prison complex and tried before military tribunals along with other 40 MB leaders on groundless money-laundry and terrorism-backing charges, told the media saying: “this is nothing rather than a comedy” elaborating “the financial report found us guiltless; but, unfortunately, we are still arbitrarily jailed for no crime.”
Incidentally, Eng. Ahmad Ashraf, executive board manager of the house under focus, is Al-Shater’s prison inmate, under the same fabricated case. His basic rights harassed and money assets still frozen, although he, along with the other case inmates, were acquitted four times by Egyptian competent civil courts.
