Lawyers’ Demonstration Show Solidarity with Journalists, Call for Liberation of Egyptian Minds

They demanded releasing political detainees and called for the liberation of minds and consciences of the Egyptians so that the country can develop scientifically and economically.

Tens of Muslim Brotherhood lawyers lashed out at "illegal and oppressive tortures and detentions" committed by the Egyptian regime against innocent people. They demanded releasing political detainees and called for the liberation of minds and consciences of the Egyptians so that the country can develop scientifically and economically.
 
They criticized in a huge demonstration that the bar association organized on Monday Dec, 10th, the so called fierce attack from the ruling regime against well-reputed figures, including Khairat Al-Shater, the second deputy chairman of the Muslim Brotherhood (MB). They showed their rejection to throwing these dozens of MB figures behind bars and referring them to the military tribunal denying them their constitutional right of standing trial before a competent and civilian judge.
 
The demonstrators wore white shawls on their chests with the phrase no to military trials written on them, declaring their solidarity with journalists against unjust laws and provisions aimed at gagging them to prevent the truth from being revealing and corruption from being exposed. At the same time, they called for supporting the workers, who were engaged in a bitter battle to defend their rights.

The rulers do not care about the development and prosperity contributed by an honorable sect belonging to the Muslim Brotherhood. Instead, they have the weapon of the emergency law, said the protesters, condemning the abolition of subsidy and privatization. They care about nothing except the seat they occupy, they said, stressing that corruption has become rampant in the country under a detestable emergency rule that has lasted for a quarter of a century.
