Six students of the Alexandria based Social Service Institute staged along with their families and some sympathizers from the institute an open sit-in last Monday morning in front of the Egyptian People"s Assembly, the lower chamber of parliament. They started this sit in after Dr. Ibrahim Abdul Hadi- dean of the Social Service Institute in Alexandria- refused to implement the promise of Dr. Mofid Shehab the Minister of State for Legal Affairs of solving the problem of the six institute students and canceling the decision of dismissing them for two years, although they got court ruling rejecting and overturning the dismissal decision .

The students confirmed that they will break up their sit-in only after an immediate decision is issued to allow them to return to classes in their institute, specially that the semester exams are to begin after only 15 days.

The students said that they are about to sue the Minister of Higher Education for not implementing the court ruling .
