MB Military Trial Adjourned till Dec, 25th, Defence Team Mulls Withdrawal

The military tribunal adjourned its 41st session on Sunday Dec, 23rd, 2007 in the trail against forty Muslim Brotherhood (MB) leaders topped by Khairat Al Shater, the second deputy chairman of the group and Dr. Mohamed Ali Beshr, a member of the MB Executive Office.

The military tribunal adjourned its 41st session on Sunday Dec, 23rd, 2007 in the trail against forty Muslim Brotherhood (MB) leaders topped by Khairat Al Shater, the second deputy chairman of the group and Dr. Mohamed Ali Beshr, a member of the MB Executive Office.
 
The previous session witnessed a key turn in the bill of indictment of the prosecution, through dropping charges of terrorism and money laundry against the accused, but it added a new charge against both Khairat Al-Shater and Hassan Malek, the charge of running assets of the Muslim Brotherhood. 
Sunday"s trial session was adjourned till next Tuesday Dec, 25th, 2007. The judge wasn"t clear in directing the charges both before and after the deliberations. 
In the same context, the defense demanded the court send Hassan Zalat to hospital due to his deteriorating health conditions but the court postponed approving this request . 
Abdul Moneim Abdul Maqsoud, the chief lawyer of the Muslim Brotherhood group, told Ikhwanweb that the defence team submitted some requests to the court, topped by referring the new charge to the military prosecution to investigate into it . 
However, the court did not respond to this request and the defence lawyers withdrew from the pleading to ponder over withdrawing or pursuing the defence.
 
 
It"s worth mentioning that Huckstepp-based military tribunal witnessed unprecedented crowds. Huge numbers of supporters and sympathizers flocked to the base to express their solidarity with the MB leaders referred of the military tribunal.
