Both the Arabic Network for Human Rights Information (HRinfo), and Reporters Without Borders organization have sent a request to king Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the king of Saudi Arabia , to release the blogger “Ahmed Fouad Al-Farhan” who has been held in prison for the past month.

In their request letter on Thursday( Jan., 10th, 2007 ), both organization have tackled the condition of the Saudi blogger “Ahmed Al-Farhan” detained by the Saudi Ministry of Interior since December 10th, 2007 .

The organizations have asked the Saudi king to order Farhan’s immediate and unconditional release besides clarifying the reasons behind Farhan’s repressive detention.

The letter also clarified that such matter of detention was previously raised by the US assistant secretary of state “Sean McCormack” who discussed it with the Saudi government during his visit to the Saudi Kindom on Jan. 3rd.

It’s worth mentioning that access to more than 400,000 websites hosted in Saudi Arabia and abroad are currently blocked in the Saudi Kingdom , including those of human rights and civil liberties.
