MB Military Tribunal Adjourned till Jan, 14th to resume Defense Pleading

The Military Court will resume its sessions on Monday Jan, 14th, in the trial of 40 Muslim Brotherhood (MB) leaders topped by Khairat Al Shater the second deputy chairman of the group and Dr. Mohamed Ali Beshr a member of the group’s Executive Office.

The Military Court will resume its sessions on Monday Jan, 14th, in the trial of 40 Muslim Brotherhood (MB) leaders topped by Khairat Al Shater the second deputy chairman of the group and Dr. Mohamed Ali Beshr a member of the group"s Executive Office. Sunday"s session included completing the pleading for businessman Hassan Malek which has covered the previous three sessions.

Monday"s session will include the pleading of Lawyer Sayed Al Sobki. 
Kamel Mandour said in Sunday"s pleading that there are sequestered items not belonging to his client but were premeditatedly attached to him. He blamed the prosecution which didn"t review these items when it received them from the state security prosecution and only listed them in reports. He also discussed the investigations which he described as "unsubstantiated", confirming that the prosecution did not move to know whether these investigations are true . 

 
He spoke also in his pleading about both Hassan Zalat and Dr. Essam Hashish and said the investigations about Dr. Hashish were mere lies. He said that the investigation report described Dr. Hashish as a teacher in the Faculty of Engineering, Cairo University although Hashish is a professor and a department chief in the Faculty of Engineering. He added that his sequestered items contained no no money or transfers or even any evidence to indicate that he belongs to the Muslim Brotherhood.

He is actually a member in the Al-Wasat (Centre) Party which is well-known for its disagreements with the Muslim Brotherhood group. The lawyer indicated also the Prime Minister honored Dr. Hashish who won the State"s Appreciation Prize in addition to receiving the ideal doctor award in the faculty. For his part, the judge asked Dr. Hashish to appear before the court to see him.
