Egyptian authorities carried out o Monday Jan 28th heavy security campaigns nationwide to search for Palestinians who managed to sneak into various Egyptian governorates in order to send them back to Gaza Strip.

The heavy security deployment started last Friday afternoon to curb the flocking of Palestinians into Egyptian territories and allow them only buy their commodities without sneaking into governorates to remain there.
The security deployment was restricted to some governorates of Sinai region and border regions, in addition to the Rafah-Al-Arish main road. However, this security deployment expanded to hold searches and inspections even in streets, hotels and residential units starting from governorates close to Sinai until governorates of Cairo and Giza searching for Palestinians.

In the same context, owners of hotels and residential units were asked to report to security authorities about any Palestinian who may come to rent a hotel room or an apartment to help Egyptian security services send them back to Gaza Strip.
Closing all border crossings and roads leading to Al-Arish city were among measures taken by the Egyptian security services to control over borders and have a control over the number of the Palestinians coming from Gaza Strip to Egypt, in addition to increasing checkpoints on main roads and even seize cars laden with commodities sent to Gaza residents .
