In his statement to the leaders of Hamas and Fattah gathering in Cairo, MB Chairman Mohamed Mahdi Akef urged to reach an agreement that would end hostilities and achieve stability in Palestinian territories

In his message to the leaders of Hamas and Fattah gathering in Cairo, MB Chairman Mohamed Mahdi Akef urged them to reach an agreement that would end hostilities and achieve stability in Palestinian territories. Mr. Akef called for direct meeting between the leaders of both factions, Khaled Mesha’al and Mahmoud Abbas who are visiting Egypt for talks with Egyptian officials.


Mr. Akef also stressed on border security and emphasized that border crossing between Egypt and Gaza must be sealed and secured in order to protect Egypt sovereignty and security, and only allow passage through Rafah gate to ensure continuous supply of aid to Gaza.


Mr. Akef also called on the Egyptian government to work vigorously to assist Palestinian leaders to reach an agreement which will serve the country’s national security and interest.
