The Egyptian Political Parties Affairs Committee, headed by Shura Council speaker Safwat Al Sharif, issued a decision of taking assets of Egyptian opposition leader Ayman Nour, including an law office owned by his wife Gamila Ismail and his house, owned by his children Nour and Shadi, plus seizing 15 offices of the party headed by Ayman Nour and giving them to the new party leader Mousa Mostafa.

This decision is a part of the ongoing spate of repressions committed the Egyptian regime against critics. Ayman Nour was a frontrunner in the 2005 presidential elections which were won by President Mohamed Hosni Mubarak. He is currently serving a five year prison term over charges of forging membership proxies for his party, Al-Ghad (tomorrow) party.

Al-Ghad party is currently witnessing an internal conflict between two fronts, the first led by Nour and his wife Gamila Ismail and the second is led by the Egyptian regime-backed Mousa Mostafa who is currently seizing Nour"s properties and party headquarters after today"s decision.
