Egyptian Citizen Harshly Tortured in a Police Station

An Egyptian citizen was released yesterday (Saturday March, 1st) in a terrible health condition after being dragged to a police station where he was kept even after the court demanded his release.

An Egyptian citizen was released yesterday (Saturday March, 1st) in a terrible health condition after being dragged to a police station where he was kept even after the court acquitted him.
 
The citizen, Ashraf Ali Ibrahim, got out of Kafr Al-Dawar police station yesterday with a lack of speech abilities and vital processes.
 
The story began when Ashraf entered a gas station owned by a former officer where he doubted a kind of rigging in the gas station. A clash took place between him and workers working there in which they harshly beat him causing him a skull fracture.
 
Witnesses transported him to a near hospital for urgent medical treatment. However, police officers accused the victim “Ashraf” and his brother of shooting a worker in the gas station and dragged both of them to the police station despite the victim’s health deterioration.
 
The court refuted the police officers’ claims and stated the release of Ashraf and his brother. However Ashraf was released out of Kafr Al-Dawwar police station 3 days after the court’s verdict, and was released suffering a state of total mental confusion and involuntary urination, in addition to his skull and shoulder fractures.
 
Al-Nadeem Center for Rehabilitation and Psychological Treatment for the Victims of Violence have sent a call to Dr. Hamdi Al-Sayed, head of the Doctors’ Syndicate and chairman of the health committee in the Egyptian People’s Assembly, in which the center totally denied the police intervention in medical and educational institutions.
 
Al-Nadeem wondered about the limits of such police authorities that have the power to drag a patient with a deteriorated health condition out of a hospital and threaten his life.
 
Al-Nadeem Center sent another call to PEC Chairman, Mamdouh Marie, denouncing the violations made by the police officers ignoring all judicial verdicts.
