The High Administrative Court, presided by the vice-president of State Council “Judge Essam El-Din Abdul-Aziz”, turned down a request to re-consider releasing Ayman Nour, leader of Al-Ghad Party, on medical grounds.

Ayman’s lawyer, Amir Salem, have entered in a plea last July requesting the court to allow Nour a medical release. Defense lawyer Amir Salem called for a presidential intervention after yesterday’s verdict, asking president Hosni Mubarak to issue a presidential decree to release Ayman Nour because of his health status.

Noteworthy, yesterday’s court decision was not the first; several requests to release Ayman Nour, based on medical complications have been rejected by the court.
