A large number of IOF troops stormed Tuesday morning Salfit city, northern West Bank, amid heavy gunfire for the second consecutive day and kidnapped five Palestinian children from the city"s houses and roads. Palestinian eyewitnesses reported that confrontations took place between citizens and the invading troops, adding that Israeli soldiers ransacked houses in the city, questioned some citizens and compared faces with photos in their possession. In another context, Hebrew radio reported that two Israeli settlers were seriously injured during rocket attacks carried out by the Palestinian resistance on the Natev Hatsrah settlement in the Palestinian lands occupied in 1984, adding that they were transferred to a hospital in Ashkelon. For its part, the Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, announced in a communiqué received by the PIC that its fighters managed Tuesday morning to fire four mortar shells on the Israeli Kissufim military post east of Khan Younis and seven others on two military posts east of the Breij refugee camp. The communiqué stated that these counterattacks were carried out in retaliation to the repeated Israeli incursions into the cities and towns of Gaza and the West Bank. |
