Mahalla"s Prosecution has ordered Blogger Mamdouh al-Moniyar referred to forensic medicine department to examine his gross physical injuries as a result of torture at the hands of state security officers in Mahalla.

He was arrested while covering April 6 Strike at al-Mahalla al-Kubra, Gharbia. Prosecution has ordered him released yesterday; however he was referred to forensic medicine after disclosing his body before the prosecutor to show him the torture signs.

He told the prosecutor that he suffered from electric shocks, battery, and heinous torture at the state security office by Officer Mohamed Hani; manager of Mahalla"s State Security office. In addition, state security detectors made him suffer from trailing, insults, etc.

Tuesday April 8 dawn, four persons, including one in military garments, broke into Mamdouh"s house and kidnapped him after taking some of his books and belongings during persecution and arrests practiced against media figures at Mahalla to muzzle the media and conceal the security violations against the civilians in Mahalla.
