Mahmoud Meghed (member of the MB parliamentary bloc) demanded the
Egyptian government to oblige the private sector to raise the
employees" salaries by 30% to be equal to those of the public sectors
to cover for the latest price hikes.

In his urgent request submitted to the Minister of Commerce and Industry, Megahed criticized the government"s silence towards  the refusal of the majority of the commercial and industrial employers to abide by the social pay raise proposed by President Mubarak.

"Employers have to realize that raising the salaries will lead to increase of production, because the workers will feel satisfied" he added, and called for a fair solution for employers and employees.
