Mohamed Mustafa Al-Adly (member of Muslim Brotherhood parliamentary bloc) has criticized the maltreatment of Mahalla"s detainees at Burg El-Arab prison.

In a statement to the bloc"s website, Al-Adly demanded the Ministry of Interior to reconsider the arbitrary policies adopted against detainees.

He stated that all the people are well- persuaded that the clashes of Al-Mahallah were mainly due to the provocative practices of the security authorities, and that the way they are treated inside the prison is against human rights or the international conventions.

Activists who were detained for the events of al-Mahallah have gone on their open hunger strike against maltreatment and classification as criminal prisoners except for Mohamed Salah Mar`ey (interpreter of the American journalist James Pack).
