Study Praises Parliamentary Performance Of Muslim Brotherhood MPs

A study conducted recently by Rami Hafez Abdul Razeq –a human rights researcher at the Egyptian Democratic Institute for legal and Constitutional Rights Education- praised the parliamentary performance of Muslim Brotherhood MPs, stressing that they are the most active in using all available regulatory tools, and more committed to attend sessions, unlike National Democratic Party MPs.

A study conducted recently by Rami Hafez Abdul Razeq –a human rights researcher at the Egyptian Democratic Institute for legal and Constitutional Rights Education- praised the parliamentary performance of Muslim Brotherhood MPs, stressing that they are the most active in using all available regulatory tools, and more committed to attend sessions, unlike National Democratic Party MPs.
 
The study condemned the escalation of the ruling regime against the MB, referring to the security harassments and military trials.

 

The study also stated that the MB bloc is the most successful parliamentary bloc in the history of the Egyptian parliament. It represents an Islamic political organization that succeeded engaging all social classes, with an intellectual background that allowed it to discuss a broad range of controversial issues such as the Child Law, the Palestinian cause, the military tribunals, gas exports to Israeli occupation, as well as many others.

 
 
The study clarified the role of the media and civil society organizations in  highlighting the violations which the bloc was exposed to, confirming that the political analysis of these violations showed that the reason behind these violations  is related to its being the most popular in the Egyptian street.

 
 
The study criticized the powers granted to the PA Speaker and the committees offices to prepare the activity plan of the PA, the committees, and the discipline process, which is one of the main reasons for the small role of opposition in the parliament in questioning and censorship over state agencies.
