Lawsuit Against “Sawt Al-Omaa” Newspaper Adjourned To October 30

Al-Agouza criminal Court decided Thursday to postpone the lawsuit filed by the police officer Mohammed Hamdi Radwan (Associate Investigation of Al- Kobba police section), who accused “Sawt Al-Omaa” newspaper of insult and defamation, Ikhwanweb reporter said.

Al-Agouza criminal Court decided Thursday to postpone the lawsuit filed by the police officer Mohammed Hamdi Radwan (Associate Investigation of Al- Kobba police section), who accused “Sawt Al-Omaa” newspaper of insult and defamation, Ikhwanweb reporter said.

 

This lawsuit was filed against Essam Ismail Fahmy (Board Chairman), Wael Mahmoud El Ibrashi (chief editor of Sawt-Al-Omaa), and Heba Mohamed Jaafar (a journalist).

The incidents of this case date back to that time when “Sawt Al-Omaa” newspaper published news in its edition of 366, entitled “an officer in Al-Kobba stormed a citizen’s house at dawn.” The news story included the attack on the citizen and his sister, who tried to take pictures of the effects of torture.

The police officer accused the newspaper of defamation and using insulting words against him, and demanded 100 thousand pounds as compensation.
