Prosecution withdrew the release warrant issued on The arrest warrant came four days after the release warrant, which triggered the discontent of the detainees’ families and lawyers. The students were arrested from an apartment at Al Salam neighborhood at Al Zaqaziq city after cordoning it while they were attending a Human Development course. The state security raided the students’ houses, intimidating their families and stealing their PCs, books, papers, textbooks and other things. Among detainees are Dr Ihab Mahmoud (Assistant Teacher at Faculty of Specific Education and the course tutor) and Hamed Sha’ban (Engineer and the course organizer). The detained students are Ibrahim Al shawadfy Mohamed (Faculty of Education), Mohamed Shaltut (Faculty of Engineering), Ahmad Kamal (Faculty of Commerce), Mahmoud Al Taweel (Faculty of Medicine), Osama Abu Hatab (Faculty of Agriculture), Mohamed Marey (Faculty of Engineering), Hany Mohamed (Faculty of Religion Assets), Abdullah Ibrahim (Faculty of Commerce), Omar Assayed Ismail (Industrial Technical Institute) and Mohamed Ramadan (Health Technical Institute). The detainees’ lawyer wondered why the release warrant was not implemented, and for what reason they are still imprisoned, except if the Minister of Interior decided to arrest who was released by prosecutors. |
