Egyptians Against Torture Movement requested a full investigation with all security leaders who were involved in the events of Al-Jazeera Islamic School. In their statement, they disapproved of the oppressive methods used by the security agencies against the citizens, considering the statement a general complaint filed to the Attorney General.

The movement promised to track down the officer who tortured the people, especially in the case of Hamada Abdul-Latif, who suffered paralysis as a result of the severe torture at Al-Dekhela police station, confirming that it will not allow the perpetrator of this hideous crime to escape from justice.

The Lawyers Syndicate in
Alexandria also expressed its solidarity with the parents of the students and Hamada Abdul-Latif criticizing what it described as the "governor"s violation of legitimacy and judiciary verdicts.” Ahmed Alhamrawy (Secretary General of the Lawyers Syndicate in Alexandria) described the attack on Hamada Abdul-Latif by the police, as a new episode in the series of violence, a form of terrorism, and an abandonment of state law, in a press conference on the events of Al-Jazeera Islamic School held by the Muslim Brotherhood parliamentary bloc in Alexandria on Friday evening, September 26.

Alhamrawy demanded the immediate release of the detainees and an investigation with the officer on charges of attempting to murder citizens and causing deformities in their bodies, and requested the re-opening of Al-Jazeera Islamic School in compliance with judiciary order.

Hamada Abdul-Latif (one of the parents’ and arrested people) was exposed to torture and severe beating which caused him to go into a coma. The Dekhela investigation office then sent him to
Al-Amiri Hospital where he underwent an operation in the spinal cord as a result of this brutal attack which also caused him to suffer quadriplegia.

The prosecution had accused the prisoners of assembling, insulting the deputy officer of Al-Dekhela police station, disrupting transportation means, and logging.
