The Hisham Mubarak Law Center called upon the Attorney General and Minister of Interior to suspend the officer accused of killing a pregnant woman until investigations are completed.

The Center added that the family had accused the officer Ahmed Abdel-Aziz from Samalut Police Department, known as Azuz, of physically assaulting the victim Mervet Abdel-Salam Abdel-Fattah through beating and causing her death.  In spite of that, the Minister of Interior didn’t take any actions and the police officer resumed work in the same department, which might undermine the integrity of the investigation in addition to offending the relatives of the victim.
