Bulaq misdemeanor court passed a fining ruling against Nadir Guhar, manager of Cairo Broadcasting Company. He would pay 50,000 pounds on charges of possessing satellite broadcasting as well as another 100,000 on charges of establishing and operating communications network without a license from The National Telecom Regulatory Authority.

This ruling was passed against Guhar after his trial last May before Bulaq misdemeanor court for publishing photos illustrating April Strike in Mahalla in which the people were clearly seen while tearing the image of President Mubarak.

The ruling also included the confiscation of all equipments of the company. Such equipments are valued by hundreds of thousands pounds.
This ruling is seen as the first of its kind to incriminate those working in the field of satellite broadcasting.

The bill regulating satellite broadcasting will be discussed next legislative term. Under the new law, violators might receive ruling of prison, confiscation, and freezing of activities.
