Za’rour Condemns Exclusion of Student From Hostel For His Blog

Member of MB Parliamentary Bloc and of People’s Assembly Media and Culture Committee Mo’men Za’rour strongly condemned a student’s exclusion from the university hostel, in spite of his fulfilling all the conditions of hostel residence, because he owns a free blog.

Member of MB Parliamentary Bloc and of People"s Assembly Media and Culture Committee Mo"men Za"rour strongly condemned a student"s exclusion from the university hostel, in spite of his fulfilling all the conditions of hostel residence, because he owns a free blog.

In his statement to Ikhwanweb, Za"rour referred to the blatant intervention of security in every big and small issue in all the state"s institutions warning that such interventions will lead to unfavorable consequences and increase the congested situation in the country.

It is mentioned that students of the Faculty of Mass Communications in Cairo University have organized a strike to be held on-campus Sunday to protest against the exclusion of the student Ahmed Abdel-Qawiyy from the university hostel upon orders issued by the security to the hostel"s administration.

From its part, the Arab Network for Human Rights Information also condemned Ahmed"s exclusion from the hostel because of the opinions he expresses on his blog.

It is worthy to be mentioned that Ahmed is the owner of the "Akid Fi Masr (Definitely In Egypt)" blog.  He was born in Fayyoum and is currently a junior in Mass Communications in the Department of Journalism at Cairo University.  He had earned a grade of Very Good as a freshman and sophomore, and spent his last academic year in the hostel as he originally resides in Fayyoum which is 100 km away from Cairo.
