MP Jamal Al-Khudari, the head of the popular anti siege committee, has called on the world community to immediately intervene to halt the Israeli occupation authority"s collective punishment against the entire Gaza population.

The MP, in a radio statement on Saturday, said that UNRWA"s stores in Gaza were empty because of the IOA"s refusal to allow entry of assistance material despite UNRWA"s repeated warnings.

He stressed that the "serious precedence" calls upon the world to immediately act and pressure the IOA to open the Gaza crossings and allow entry of fuel, raw material, relief aid and other basic needs.

Khudari explained that 80% of Gaza population was living below the poverty line and 65% unemployed due to the IOA siege, which made the relief assistance provided by UNRWA, the world food program and other local, Arab and international relief agencies an important source for the Gaza inhabitants.

He opined that the situation in Gaza had exceeded the stage of collective punishment into genocide in light of the IOA stringent measures.
