In her statements to Ikhwanweb, Manar El-Shurbagi (professor of Political Sciences at the American University in Cairo and expert of the American affairs) condemned statements made by Ayman Al-Zawahri (second-in-command of Al-Qaeda Network).

Zawahri described the US president-elect Barack Obama as “a slave of the White House”. Dr. Manar said that such statements are replete with unacceptable racialism that contradicts with the Islamic principles.

“It is quite ridiculous to expect that the US president-elect would advocate our interests. Naturally Obama would be advocating the interests of America and the American people who elected him," she added.

She asserted that no country leader might grant us “free lunch” regarding our issues; we should do our best to have influence on them.

Ayman El-Zawahri delivered online statements describing Obama as "a house Negro" and said that Obama abandoned his Islamic roots and sided with the "enemies of Islam."
