Court Orders Release of MB Media Figures

South Cairo Court at the Fifth Compound ordered release of MB Islamic cleric and Professor of Hadith Abdur-Rahman Al Bar and eight media figures on Sunday, after a plea filed to the prosecutors on Saturday.

South Cairo Court at the Fifth Compound ordered release of MB Islamic cleric and Professor of Hadith Abdur-Rahman Al Bar and eight media figures on Sunday, after a plea filed to the prosecutors on Saturday.

 

The plea was filed at the Fifth Compound (Attagamo’ Al-Khamis district) against the prosecutors’ decision on Sunday, November 16, where the defense described it as “frustrating”, as it was expected to release them all, because the probes had ended and non of them was proved to be guilty.

 

The prosecution then decided to release Dr Yusuf Talaat and to imprison the other nine defendants. Thus, the defense decided to appeal, to define a hearing before the Criminal Court.

 

The arrest of Professor Al Barr and the media figures was on October 5, when the SSI force attacked his home during the media figures presence for filming TV shows with him.
