Press reports revealed that UN special rapporteur on human rights in Palestine Richard Falk would submit on Monday to the UN human rights council his first report on Israeli war crimes committed in the Gaza Strip.

News leaks said that Falk, in a report of 26 pages, questions the legitimacy of the last Israeli war on Gaza and urges charging Israel with war crimes based on evidence and confirmed information in his possession.

The UN official also levels a series of charges against Israeli officials of deliberately violating Geneva conventions and calls for conducting an independent investigation into these infringements.

The report contains charges against Israel of violating international law by imposing a blockade on Gaza and calls for lifting it.

The UN official concludes in his report that the UN Security Council may form a special tribunal to try senior Israeli leaders responsible for war crimes in Gaza.

Richard Falk is a US professor of international law and because of his criticism of Israeli practices against Palestinians, Israel denies him entry to the occupied Palestinian lands to investigate reported violations against human rights.
