A thousand students from Kafr Sakr Social Service Institute organized a strike on Sunday in front of the institute’s administration to protest against the passive stance of police towards the killing incident of their colleague Mohamed Atef.

The victim’s brother, Ahmed Atef, pointed out that students had gathered Sunday morning in front of the office of the institute’s President requesting the true reasons behind the death of Mohamed who died a week ago after being stabbed three times in the stomach and chest.

“The area where the institute is built is full of bullies, as some students have previously been exposed to assaults and filed reports without knowing the identities of the assaulters.  The last incident was the one in which my brother was killed before entering the institute for no reason,” Ahmed continued accusing the security apparatus of failing to protect his brother and others.

Commenting on the incident in his statement to Ikhwanweb, Member of the MB Parliamentary Bloc MP Farid Ismail accused the State Security apparatus of failing to fulfill its duties in maintaining security and protecting citizens from danger adding, “the State Security apparatus has devoted itself to political security and arresting opponents and left criminals without punishment or accountability for their crimes and transgressions against people.”
