Black List For Human Rights Violators in the Arab World

According to reliable resources in the General Assembly of ADDHR chaired by Saif El-Islam, the son of the Libyan leader Muamer Elkadafi, the release of such list is unprecedented in the Arab world aiming at gathering evidence and prosecute perpetrators of human rights violations and bring them to justice.

On Wednesday May 27, 2009, in the Libyan capital Tripoli, 30 NGOs from several Arab countries, members of the Arab Alliance For Democracy, Development and Human Rights (ADDHR) began studying the introduction of a black list and smart sanctions for human rights violators and creating the first Arab Committee specialized in gathering facts and evidence on human rights violations.
 
According to reliable resources in the General Assembly of ADDHR chaired by Saif El-Islam, the son of the Libyan leader Muamer Elkadafi, the release of such list is unprecedented in the Arab world aiming at gathering evidence and prosecute perpetrators of human rights violations and bring them to justice.
 
It its worth mentioning that ADDHR includes human rights organizations from Bahrain, Egypt, Lebanon, UAE, Jordan, Mauritania, Morocco and Tunisia, in addition to Libya
 
The General Coordinator of the Alliance, Ali Saeed El-Barghothy, explained that General Assembly will be discussing many topics related to current situations in the region, especially human rights violations and the suffering of Palestinian people in Gaza.
 
El-Barghothy pointed out that the initiative is a real test which emphasizes the efforts of the alliance to improve the conditions of human rights in the Arab world.
 
He also stressed that the committee concerned with gathering evidence will be filling the gap emerged during the “Israeli aggression on Gaza” along with associated human rights violations of Palestinians in Gaza.
