Demonstrators Against Obama’s Visit to Cairo Arrested
Hundreds of undercover policeman and anti-riot police were deployed in the place of the event and in the streets leading to downtown Cairo. Many of them were seeing heading to the front of Talaat Harb Street which was full of the vans of Central Security Forces and policemen as they told people not to stand in front of shops.

The Egyptian Security Forces have launched a big arrest campaign Downtown Cairo, today evening 3rd June 2009, when a number of politicians and activists from “Kefaya Movement” were heading to Ramsis Square to participate in the demonstration against the visit of the US President Barak Obama to Cairo.
 
They arrested Dr. Karima El-Hefnawy, Dr. Yehia Qazaz, Eng. Moahmmed El-Ashqar, Dr. Abdel Halim Qandil and Saher Gad, the journalist.
 
Hundreds of undercover policeman and anti-riot police were deployed in the place of the event and in the streets leading to downtown Cairo. Many of them were seeing heading to the front of Talaat Harb Street which was full of the vans of Central Security Forces and policemen as they told people not to stand in front of shops.
 
Strict instructions have been issued to stop this demonstration which aimed at expressing Kefaya Movement’s rejection of the visit of Obama who should arrive tomorrow to give his speech to the Islamic world from Cairo University.
