Yesterday, the House passed legislation (H.R.1886) provisioning conditional trade, aid and development assistance to Pakistan. The bill increases non-military aid, authorizing $1.5 billion to Pakistan each year through 2013.

Floor debate rules for the bill attach it to the Foreign Relations Authorization Act (H.R. 2410), which passed in the House on Wednesday. Both bills will head to the Senate together in order to propel action on both topics. H.R.1886 may be delayed in the Senate, which is considering its own legislation on Pakistan (S.962), which is scheduled for a markup in mid July.
