Mr Sayed Askar MP and member of the Muslim Brotherhood Parliamentary Bloc, has condemned the failure of the Ministry of Endowment in managing the mosques it is responsible for, in addition to its of lack of Imams, Muezzins and workers.

In a memorandum submitted to the Prime Minister Ahmed Nazif, he criticized the insistence of the Minister of Endowment to include more civil mosques to the Ministry, explaining that this comes within the framework of a government’s plan which is being implemented in stages to end the real and core role of mosques and diverting its management to the State Security.

The MP wondered: In whose interest it was to eliminate the mosques role? Did the Ministry of Awqaf succeed in managing the mosques it runs? Does its budget allow for the inclusion of more mosques?

It is worth mentioning that Dr. Mahmoud Hamdy Zaqzouq, Minister of Endowment, has stated that during the next year there, will not be a single civil mosque at the level of the Republic outside the control of the Ministry.
