Muzzaini: Shalit’s whereabouts only known by a few

Dr. Osama Al-Muzzaini, one of Hamas’s political leaders, has underlined that only a few members of the Qassam Brigades the armed wing of Hamas knew the whereabouts of captured Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit because of the seriousness of this issue.

Dr. Osama Al-Muzzaini, one of Hamas"s political leaders, has underlined that only a few members of the Qassam Brigades the armed wing of Hamas knew the whereabouts of captured Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit because of the seriousness of this issue.

 

He told Al-Quds Al-Arabi newspaper published on Friday that none of Hamas"s political or even armed wing leaders know of Shalit"s location.

 

"The closed circle of people concerned with the issue is not in contact with the Hamas leadership as a security precaution", he said, adding that this leadership does not know the health condition of Shalit following the latest Israeli war on Gaza.

 

"We really don"t know whether he is wounded or dead," Muzzaini said, adding that the fate of Shalit would be known only when the exchange deal is materialized.

 

The Hamas leader renewed his Movement"s insistence on its demands for the release of Shalit, denying that Hamas had agreed to change the list of names of Palestinian prisoners to be freed in return for Shalit.
