State security forces raided the house of Dr. Adly Hussein in Hosh Esa and arrested 16 members of the Muslim Brotherhood who were present at the time.

Among those detained are two former Members of Parliament, including Gamal Heshmat, a former MP who was defeated in the 2005 elections only due to fraud and Dr. Mohamed Sweidan, the administrator for the Brotherhood's office in Beheira.

After the arrests, forces continued in their barbaric way and invaded the houses of the detainees, provoking their families and creating havoc. Neighbors witnessed the forces' ignorance, in which the houses were entered into by breaking and smashing doors and those attempting to stop them, were compelled to show identification. Computers, books and other belongings were confiscated from the homes in a futile attempt to try and indict any accusations against the innocent detainees.

Others detained include:

 Mohamed Sweidan

Hosny Amr

Mustapha Alkhouly

Mohamed Abul Saad

Mahdy Karsham

Adel Younis

Sobhi Altahan

Hamed Badawy

Hamad Ebeid

Mohamed Alsharaky

A police official who requested anonymity since he wasn't authorized to give statements said the group was holding a meeting in violation of the law which requires permits for political gatherings.

These attacks and raids are not new to the regime that has been targeting members of the Brotherhood for some time and in particular those who hold highly ranked positions.
