The next MB's hearing postponed to November 3 to highlight innocence of Khayrat al-Shater and companions.
Vice chairman of the Movement Eng Khayrat al-Shater filed appeals challenging the unfair sentencing along wit 10 other members who shared the same fate. A group of distinguished and prominent lawyers lined up to co-operate in the defense referring to the constitution and charters stressing the illegal measures practiced on the honorable detainees. The Court of Cessation decided on postponing the appeal by Muslim Brotherhood leaders who were arrested and unfairly sentenced to terms ranging from 3 – 10 years by a military tribunal in April 2008. Vice chairman of the Movement Eng Khayrat al-Shater filed appeals challenging the unfair sentencing along wit 10 other members who shared the same fate. A group of distinguished and prominent lawyers lined up to co-operate in the defense referring to the constitution and charters stressing the illegal measures practiced on the honorable detainees. Lawyers involved in the defense include: Dr Mahmoud Alsaka Dr Ibrahim Saleh Dr Awad Mohamed Awad Mohamed Aldomaty Abdul Monem Abdul Maqsoud Sayed Gadallah Nasser Alhafy Alhafy one of the defense lawyers revealed to Ikhwanonline that the session continued for approximately 3 hours were the judiciary listened to the defense clarify and explain the injustices practiced on the group where harsh sentenced were issued stressing that this violated the most minimum of freedoms. The hearing was postponed to November 3 where it is expected that further efforts will be made to convince the judiciary of the detainees' innocence. |
