5 MB High-Ranking leaders in Upper Egypt released

Security Services released five of the Brotherhood’s high ranking figures from Upper Egypt following the Cairo Criminal Court’s decision to release them on November 1st, 2009. The detainees had been arrested along with 11 of the recently detained Muslim Brotherhood members with Dr. Mahmoud Hussein, a member of the MB Guidance Bureau on June 19.

Security Services released five of the Brotherhood’s high ranking figures from Upper Egypt following the Cairo Criminal Court’s decision to release them on November 1st, 2009. The detainees had been arrested along with 11 of the recently detained Muslim Brotherhood members with Dr. Mahmoud Hussein, a member of the MB Guidance Bureau on June 19.

 

 

 

The detainees who have been released include:

 Hammam Ali Yusuf (Sohag)

 Saif El-Din El-Maghrebi (Qena)

 Abdullah Makhlouf (Employee in Aswan’s Kima plant)

Gamal Ali Salim

 Dr. Khalid al-Sayeh (Qena).

 

 The Interior Minister had issued a release order  due to health conditions for Dr. Mahmoud Hussein, a member of the MB Guidance Bureau and Professor at the Faculty of Engineering, Assiut University, and Dr. Mohammad Kamal (Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) Professor and Head of the MB administrative bureau in Assiut on October 11, 2009.

 

 

In a related issue the Cairo Criminal Court rejected the appeals made by the defense on behalf of the detained Muslim Brotherhood leaders namely:

 Dr. Ali Ezz Eddin Sabet (Professor of Ophthalmology, University of Assiut)

Khalaf Allah Ali El-Behnsawi, an employee in the Ministry of Education)

 Ammar Hasan Hanafi (senior inspector at Luxor Antiquities Authority)

 Sayed Abdullah (Dawaa school staff member)

 

The four Brotherhood detainees are expected to be brought before the Criminal Court in the upcoming sessions.
