The State Council’s Administrative Court overturned the decision of dismissing 24 students from Al-Azhar and Ain Shams universities on charges of "committing actions that violate the university system and traditions, obstructing classes, and belonging to the Muslim Brotherhood group." The court, led by counselor Mohamed Ibrahim, the deputy chief justice of the State Council, said:" Al-Azhar University didn’t give any evidence against the 18 dismissed students". Dozens of Muslim Brotherhood students in Al-Azhar University performed an athletic display last Dec., 2006. Overblown by the government vetted media, the Egyptian regime used this display as a pretext for arresting eng. Khairat Al Shater, the second deputy chairman of the MB, and 19 MB leaders in addition to120 students in Al-Azhar University . The government denied that the athletic display was part of a paramilitary wing, pointing out that the students were performing only an artistic show depicting resistance .
