It is expected that the Egyptian Ministry of Interior release on Tuesday, December 15, 9 members of the Muslim Brotherhood Movement who were tried and sentenced. The 9 men who completed their 3-year sentence were among 25 other innocent members both within Egypt and abroad. Detainees were illegally tried and harshly sentenced by Martial court on April 15, 2008. Sentences varied from 3-10 years to all members.

Dr Mahmoud Ahmed Mahmoud Abu Zeid
Eng. Ayman Ahmed Abdul Ghany Hassanein
Dr Salah Aldesouky Amer Murad
Dr Essam Abdul Mohsen Afeefy Mohamed
Eng. Mamdouh Ahmed Abdul Moety Husseiny
Sayed Maarouf Abul Yazeed Misbah
Fathy Mohamed Baghdady Ali
Mustafa Mohamed Mohamed Mahmoud Salem
Detainees who are expected to be released on January 12 after serving their terms include:
Dr Mohamed Ali Beshr
Eng. Medhat Alhaddad
Dr Essam Hasheesh
The three-year sentence will end on January 16 for:
Dr Diyaa al-Deen Farahat
All detainees hold highly ranked, prominent and distinguished positions both within the community in general and within the Muslim Brotherhood movement in particular.
