Shunning of Muslim Brotherhood Movement raises questions of sincerity and transparency of opposition.

Mr Akef criticized the apparent shunning of the Muslim Brotherhood Movement which was not invited to join the amalgamation with the other opposition parties. The Wafd, Nasserist, Taggamu and Democratic Front Parties had united together without offering to take on the Muslim Brotherhood Movement.

"This reveals the non-transparent political environment in which Egypt exists" he added "the continuing control and command of freedom demonstrates that the country is slowly suffocating revealing that there is no hope of freedom or real democracy".

Abdul Hamid Ghazaly the political advisor to the Chairman has asserted that   the merging proves that the well-being of the nation is not at stake but rather individual gains are in order stressing that, for the merging to be sincere and the opposition to have a strong hold than all opposition parties must be united.
