MP Naser Abdul Jawad has said that the new American peace initiative is an attempt by Washington to drench the region in a new whirlpool after Fatah voiced desperate statements about failure of the negotiations.

The Hamas lawmaker said in a press release on Tuesday that the Israeli occupation authority (IOA) is persisting in its project of imposing a de facto situation, judaizing Jerusalem, assassinating resistance fighters, confiscating land and filling the West Bank with settlements while building the separation wall.

Describing the American initiative as a farce, he said that it would spread a fake hope and provide a cover for continuation of security coordination in addition to maintaining the Palestinian division that only benefits the IOA.
