The executive committee of the APU had decided to send the delegation in a show of solidarity with the besieged people of Gaza.

Dr. Ahmed Bahar, the first deputy speaker of the Palestinian legislative council, had received a message from Nurrideen Bouchkouge, the APU secretary general, in which he informed him of the visit.

Bouchkouge said that he assigned the general secretariat to prepare for the visit, noting that the delegation would comprise 15 to 25 Arab lawmakers including the secretary general and would take place on February 15-16.

He said that contacts were made with the Egyptian parliament speaker Dr. Ahmed Surrour who informed him of the Egyptian authorities' readiness to facilitate entry of the team.
