Court Hearing on Freezing MB Assets Adjourned Four Days

Cairo Criminal Court, headed by counselor Adel Abdul Salam Gomaah, adjourned hearing on the Attorney general’s decision to freez the assets of 29 of MB leaders, to February 28 The defense team described the ruling as oppressive and will lead to more deterioration to the Egyptian economy and gives a bad message to Arab and foreign investors .

The defense team described the ruling as oppressive and will lead to more deterioration to the Egyptian economy and gives a bad message to Arab and foreign investors .
 
Commenting on the ruling, Eng Khairat Al Shater said that he was surprised with it; he expected that the attorney general’s decision will be canceled because it has many bad effects on Egyptian economy, pointing out this decision is politically motivated and was issued after the Muslim Brotherhood gained a high public rating in the Egyptian street during 2005 legislative elections and the tyrannical regime’s attempt to prevent the MB from fielding candidates in the coming Shura Council elections .
 
Al Shater denied the money laundry accusations against him along with other co-defendants, confirming that it is false and groundless.

Lawyer Mostafa Al Demeiri told Ikhwanweb that the decision is very strange and was not expected to be issued that way; it is death blow to the assets and investments of Egyptians whose assets were frozen in addition to being a flagrant violation to Egyptian law and constitution .
 
It is worth mentioning that the Egyptian attorney general, counselor Abdul Magid Mahmoud, issued a decision of freezing the assets of 29 Muslim Brotherhood leaders topped by engineer Khairat Al Shater, the MB second deputy chairman, and Dr. Mohamed Ali Beshr, an Executive Bureau member, and haj Hassan Malek, and Dr. Abd Al-Rahman Saudi, in addition to the following MB leaders:
