Khafsh: IOA deliberately detains intellectuals

Fuad Al-Khafsh, a specialist in prisoners' affairs, has charged the Israeli occupation authority (IOA) with deliberately arresting Palestinian intellectuals and scientists to force them leave their country.

RAMALLAH, (PIC)-- Fuad Al-Khafsh, a specialist in prisoners' affairs, has charged the Israeli occupation authority (IOA) with deliberately arresting Palestinian intellectuals and scientists to force them leave their country.

He said in an interview with the PIC that the campaign of arrests in lines of the Palestinian academics is an extension of the campaign of assassinations carried out by the IOA against prominent Palestinian and Arab scholars.

Khafsh, the director of Ahrar center for prisoners studies and human rights, said that the IOA intentionally humiliates those intellectuals including harassing them, stripping them in front of youngsters.

He noted that three prominent Palestinian scientists were currently in IOA jails topped by Dr. Essam Rashed, a physics professor, who is also suffering hypertension and blockage in arties.
