A number of Egyptians living in Texas, United States, staged a demonstration in front of the Egyptian consulate in Houston to protest referring a group Muslim Brotherhood leaders in Egypt to military tribunals.

Protestors carried signs denouncing the human rights violations in Egypt in general and demanded an end to the government oppressive practices against opposition and the Muslim Brotherhood in particular and called for the cancelation of military tribunal
 
It is worth mentioning that the decision of president Mubarak of referring a number of Muslim Brotherhood leaders to military courts is being sharply rejected and criticized by all Egyptian civil society institutions and Egyptian and international human rights organizations. The Human Rights Watch criticized this decision and considered it an indication on the retreat of reforms in Egypt.
