Regulations permit the release of any detainee after spending three quarters of the sentence according to guarantees of appropriate behaviour and a no threat to public stance. Eng Khayrat El-Shater the MB deputy chairman and 13 of his companions have been denied this verdict despite being perfect clients for the parole. El-Shater was served a harsh 7 year prison sentence by martial court in April 2008. Unfortunately his ill health has not been taken into account and he remains detained despite recommendations by doctors for his release on account of deteriorating health. |
