![]() Dialogue continues between MB and political opposition forces
The Muslim Brotherhoods initiative to convene with political opposition parties and trends continues. Members of Egypt's strongest opposition have been meeting with other forces and putting forward ideas in an attempt to strengthen ties and bridge gaps.

Despite differences in ideological principles, thus far, all groups have agreed the significance of amendments in the constitution. The alterations called for, include the annulment of the emergency law and a desire for free and fair elections with judicial supervision. The MB has scheduled to meet this upcoming week with members of the Democratic Front Party and the Constitutional Party. Although the MB has reiterated that they are strong enough to face opposition alone they welcome the dialogue. So far all meetings have been agreeable however the MB stress there will be no collaboration regarding Parliamentary and Presidential elections. Discussion with the Wafd Party are yet to be decided where, liberal Wafd leader Mahmoud Abaza is waiting for the MB chairman Dr Mohamed Badie to call for the meeting. |
