The 81 year old President's absence from the scene after surgery has given way to much hearsay as to who will become Egypt 's next President. Elections will take place in 2011 and he has not as yet announced whether or not he will re-run for president. He has been in rule for 30 years and the emergency law in Egypt has been implemented for just as long.
Allegations that Mubarak has been grooming his son Gamal for presidency have been brushed aside as both Mubaraks deny the rumours. |
